Lanakai still missing as the Amber Alert is rescinded

RCMP say they had multiple reported sightings of the boy in BC, and one confirmed sighting Wednesday morning (July 8) in Fort St. John.

Mounties say they are working with BC RCMP to locate Lanakai and have several other leads they are investigating.

Officers have also expanded their search to include all of B.C. and much of the Northwest Territories and the Yukon.

Originally, investigators were looking for a black 2015 Toyota Tundra, but it was found; now RCMP believe that they are travelling in a 2006 red Ford F-350, with an Alberta license plate number CXW-8820.

They added that efforts to locate Lanakai remain ongoing.

An amber alert was first issued Wednesday night as Lanakai was allegedly kidnapped from Vahalla by his mother, 35-year-old Krista Morrison.

The pair is also reportedly travelling with Krista’s partner, 35-year-old Daniel Ludwig, and Krista’s other biological son, four-year-old Karl Morrison.

Brown Eyes
