Jim was proud to have been born in Banff on April 8th, 1961. He spent his childhood years in Canmore before his family moved to Lethbridge, where he completed his education in Business Management, and met the love of his life. Jim began his career at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre in 1988 before a brief transfer to Medicine Hat. He married Kathy in 1989, and after building their first home, they returned to Lethbridge, where they raised their family. He dedicated 38 years to the Lethbridge Correctional Centre.
Jim was a devoted family man whose love for his family was at the center of everything he did. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, pickleball, camping, and travelling. He also spent many years building homes with his father, helping with his son’s hockey team, building his income tax business and later working at Cornerstone and Lethbridge Toyota. Jim was known for his dry humour, generosity, and ability to make friends wherever he went.
Jim was protective, loyal, and deeply committed to his family. He led by example, instilling strong values and approaching life with dedication and pride. For the past nine years, he faced cancer with strength and courage. Anyone who knew Jim knew he always had a smile on his face and a joke to share. Jim leaves this life to be reunited with his family and Muffy. His memory will continue to inspire strength, kindness, and love.
