Annual Miners Days celebrations set for Coalhurst this coming weekend

This coming weekend the Town of Coalhurst celebrates its history with Miners Days.

Mayor Deb Florence admits it’s a big event for the community annually.

“The Coalhurst Legion, Branch 273, host a parking lot party and they have live music and entertainment and it’s an awesome time,” the mayor begins.

“The fire department has an an open house on the Friday night, as well. And, then on Saturday, we have a pancake breakfast, which is an awesome, well-attended parade and we have our family festival.”

The Imperial Gardens Family Festival takes place from 11 ’til 3 Saturday at 613 Spruce Drive. 

Here is a list of the this year’s Miners Days events:

Friday, July 24:

  • 1:30 – 3:30 PM: Lethbridge Public Library Bookmobile Outdoor Escape Room (Imperial Meadows Park – 613 Spruce Drive) – Bring your family and join the LPL Bookmobile team for an outdoor escape room challenge!
  • 4:30 PM – 11 PM (Live music 7-11 PM with Don’t Tell Mama): Parking Lot Party at Coalhurst Legion (5205 6 Street) – Drink specials, food to purchase, everyone welcome. Children must be with an adult to attend.
  • 5-9 PM: Coalhurst Fire Department Open House (702 55 Ave) – See the Town’s Fire Hall, interact with the equipment and fire trucks! Fundraising barbeque in support of the Coalhurst First Responders Society.

Saturday, July 25:

  • 8 AM – 10 AM: Coalhurst Town Council Pancake Breakfast – Coalhurst Community Centre (527 50 Ave). Free of charge and everyone welcome!
  • 10:30 AM: Annual parade – The parade will stage along 55th Avenue and then travel down 6th Street, 51st Avenue, and 2nd Street.
  • 11 AM- 3 PM: Imperial Meadows Family Festival (613 Spruce Drive) – Mini petting zoo, Bouncy Castles, Laser tag, Splash pad, Giant Slip ‘n Slide, Lawn games, Face painting, Airbrush & Glitter tattoos, Lethbridge Balloon Benders, Food trucks, Beer gardens hosted by The Last Post. Special performance from the Lethbridge Community Taiko Association at Noon!
