U15 baseball team from Magrath wins Provincials on the weekend against stiff competition

The South Chief Rockies from Magrath are the U-15 A Tier 1 provincial champions, after beating Thorsby 12-4 in the final Sunday afternoon. 

Head coach Jordan Brame said his team faced some stiff competition in the five-team tournament, but they pushed hard to take the title.

“The championship game we knew Thorsby had some strong arms and our kids came to play,” said Brame.

“Everytime we got on base, they were taking every inch that they could. Every time there was a ball in the dirt, they were stealing. Looking for opportunities. Slapping balls through holes. The scores really don’t reflect how good these teams were. They were very good teams.”
