Refurbished Taber Arena to officially re-open Friday after closure from explosion late last year

Following last Winter’s propane explosion at its ice arena, the Town of Taber is readying itself for an official grand re-opening of the facility Friday. 

Mayor Andrew Prokop says the timing coincides with the start of the Verset hockey skills camp, a day later, on Saturday.

“We promised them early on that we would make that target date, to make that happen, so that was kind of the goal all along,” the mayor said.

“So, it’s happening. They were just making ice last week, all the preps to get that to that stage, and it’s all worked out very well.”
