AltaLink to conduct aerial survey of its transmission lines this coming Monday

Aug 6, 2026 | 9:45 AM

AltaLink is letting residents and area producers know they’ll be doing some aerial inspections of their transmission lines next Monday, August 10th.

The annual patrol allows the company to see any wear and tear but also problem vegetation or issues around its infrastructure.

It adds, “it’s mindful to minimize disruption to residences, area users, livestock, and wildlife” during the operation.

On the list of communities it’ll fly over – Bellevue, Blairmore, and Coleman in the Crowsnest Pass, Pincher Creek, Fort Macleod, Cardston, and the Piikani First Nation, as well as the City of Lethbridge and Lethbridge County, and Vulcan, to the north.
