AFSC reports processing over 2,600 claims in July for hail, wind, rain, damage

The Agriculture Financial Services Corporation was kept busy in July with a rise in crop damage claims, particularly with heavy rainfall and strong winds. 

Not counting the last three days of July, it says it was processing 2,656 outstanding incidents and said adjusters were working through the backlog. 

AFSC added they are ways that producers can ‘speed up’ their claims by inspecting their fields immediately after a storm.

They should also ensure they are signed up for the notification system, which alerts farmers and ranchers of approaching storm activity.
