Picture Butte recognizes its Centennial anniversary this weekend with expanded Jamboree Days

The Town of Picture Butte is recognizing its roots this weekend with a big 100th anniversary celebration as a community. 

The weekend kicks off, in earnest, with a street dance and barbecue at 6:00 Friday evening.

Events continue Saturday morning with a pancake breakfast bright and early at 7 a.m. and the Centennial parade at 11:00.

Other events include an afternoon of fun events Saturday from Noon until 4 and a community dinner in Lions Park at 5.

Below is a list of scheduled events, which are subject to change.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 14:

  • Ball Tournament (all weekend)
  • Free Swim (2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
  • Fun Run (4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
  • Street Dance, Live Music & BBQ (6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)  BBQ sponsored by Schooten & Sons – while supplies last Live music by Trainwreck
  • Ag Society Beer Gardens (5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)
  • Fireworks at Harry Watson Memorial Ballpark (10:00 p.m.)

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15:

  • Pancake Breakfast (7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.) – Sponsored by Rick and Diana Paskal – while supplies last
  • Country Market (8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)
  • Centennial Parade (11:00 a.m.)
  • Heritage Display at Community Center (12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
  • Fun Day in the Park (12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
  • 12:15 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. Japanese Drummers
  • 1:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. Jerry First Charger
  • 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Safire Family Circus
  • 2:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. Chinese Dancers
