Pedestrians and Motorists Affected

Sidewalk repairs along University Drive West

Aug 25, 2026 | 11:12 AM

A sidewalk repair along University Drive West in Lethbridge is affecting both pedestrians and motorists.

City officials say the repair area stretches from the pathway junction south of the Bull Trail Park parking lot to Ridgewood Boulevard West. Pedestrians are detoured west to Jerry Potts Boulevard, south across Whoop-Up Drive, and east towards University Drive to reconnect with the sidewalk.

It’s further noted the project also includes an outside lane closure on northbound University Drive, beginning at the Whoop-Up Drive on-ramp. Motorists using the on-ramp must merge into the inside lane. To minimize traffic disruption, city officials say the lane closure will be adjusted as work progresses north to Ridgewood Boulevard.

Weather permitting, the repair should be done by August 28.
