Police seeking assistance to identify suspect in local crime spree
Lethbridge Police are investigating a series of incidents across the city Wednesday night and are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect.
In all instances, police say the suspect description was consistent.
On Aug. 26 at 8:45 p.m., police responded to a carjacking report in the parking lot of a business along the 500 block of 8 Street South. LPS says a security officer reported an unknown male ordered him out of his vehicle, then attempted to physically remove him. Police say the subject was unsuccessful and fled the scene.
While attempting to locate the suspect, LPS says an officer was advised a male matching the description had previously entered a convenience store along the 700 block of 6 Avenue South with his face partially covered and his hand in his pocket appearing to brandish a weapon. The male allegedly demanded cash, but none was provided and he fled the scene. No weapon was observed.
