Police seeking assistance to identify suspect in local crime spree

Around 9 p.m., police responded to a report of the same male attempting to enter a back yard along the 600 block of 6 Street South. LPS says the home owner confronted the suspect and he allegedly proceeded to point something at her. LPS says the male became belligerent then left the area.

At 10 p.m., police responded to a 911 call after the same suspect allegedly approached a male sitting on a bench on the pedestrian bridge along Whoop Up Drive. The suspect was said to be brandishing a skill saw and demanded the victim turn over his bag. According to police, the victim feared for his safety, got on his bike and fled from the suspect who allegedly chased him a short distance on foot.

Around 10:42 p.m., police responded to a parking lot at the university after a security officer reported the suspect had confronted the occupant of a vehicle. The victim told police he was sitting in his vehicle when the unknown male slapped the driver’s side window and ordered him out. When the victim did not exit, the suspect allegedly proceeded to the passenger side then left on foot. Throughout the interaction the suspect allegdly had his hand in the back of his waistband, and the victim believed he may have been concealing a weapon. LPS says no weapon was observed.

Police say no one was injured in any of the incidents and despite extensive efforts, the suspect was not located.
