Police seeking assistance to identify driver involved in suspicious interaction with child
Lethbridge Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the driver of a vehicle involved in a suspicious interaction with an 11-year-old girl.
On Aug. 24, 2026, at approximately 6:15 p.m., LPS says the girl was playing in front of her northside home when she was approached by an unknown vehicle. Police say the female driver of the vehicle told the child she was trying to give away a dog and asked if the child wanted it. No attempt was made to physically force the girl into the vehicle, and she immediately returned to her home.
The driver is described as an older Caucasian female with short, curly grey hair. Police say she was accompanied by a young Caucasian boy and a black, short-haired dog. The vehicle is described as a beige, older model minivan, similar to a 2007 Honda Odyssey.
Anyone who can help to identify the driver or registered owner of the vehicle is asked to contact police at 403-328-4444 and reference file 26016895.
