Elections Alberta to send out nearly 225,000 mail-in ballots ahead of referendum

Elections Alberta began the process Tuesday of sending out close to 225,000 mail-in ballots for the upcoming Alberta referendum. 

That, by the way, is nearly four times more than the number of special ballots requested back in the 2023 Provincial General Election. 

However, Chief Electoral Officer Gordon McClure is encouraging voters to act quickly if they would still like a mail-in ballot sent to them. 

The same goes for sending them back, providing enough time to get it through Canada Post, with packages due by 5 p.m., October 16th.
