Early morning Whoop-Up Bridge constuction pile fire under investigation

An investigation is underway into an early Wednesday morning blaze at the Whoop-Up Bridge upgrade project.

Crews called out at around 3:30 to find scaffolding and construction materials linked to ongoing bridge upgrades on fire.

Of added concern, falling debris from the bridge deck dropping down below, starting several small spot fires on the west side of the river. 

11 firefighters from two stations responded to the call out.
