FASD Day in Lethbridge September 9th

Awareness of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder highlighted during the month of September

September is being recognized as International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Month and next Wednesday (September 9) is also FASD Awareness Day. 

Audrey McFarlane with the Canada FASD Research Network saying the disorder is a Canada-wide concern and a complex health and social issue. 

The southern Alberta chapter, based in Lethbridge, applied and had City Council approve designate next Wednesday as FASD Day in the city.

In fact, a day later, on the 10th, City Hall will be lit up in red as part of a national campaign to raise awareness of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
