Calling it the economic engine of Canada, the province’s Jobs minister has issued his annual Labour Day statement.

Joseph Schow said his government is proud to recognize Alberta’s workers and the contributions they make to the province.

“Alberta is the economic engine of Canada and Alberta’s workers are the driving force behind that success,” said Schow in a release Monday morning.

“Their contributions every day make (it) the best place to live, work and raise a family.”

The minister said his government continues to promote safe, fair and healthy places to work, while attracting the investment that will provide more jobs and opportunities for workers.

In closing, he thanked the “millions of men and women across this province for helping build a stronger Alberta.”
