Delays possible as City of Lethbridge begins upgrades to Columbia Boulevard West

Tuesday will be the start of up-to-three weeks of project upgrades on Columbia Boulevard West; the construction, all part of the City’s 2026 Intersection Improvement program.

Among the new installations are a new flashing beacon pedestrian signal, adding curb extensions and upgrading street lighting. 

Between now and the 23rd, drivers can expect lane reductions, from time-to-time, temporary traffic signals and changing traffic patterns.

Among the work that’s being planned for this week is the removal of pavement and the installing of curbs on the southside of the road.
