Twinning work continues for a section of Highway 3 between Taber and Burdett and is about 75-percent complete according to one Coaldale councillor.

Bill Chapman, who also sits as a member of the Twinning Project Association, says the second phase of the project is expected to begin next year.

“The second stage, the government has already approved the $172 million to go from Medicine Hat to place called Whitlaw,” Chapman elaborated.

“About 36 kilometres, I believe it is, so, that’ll be the stage two. So, it is budgeted for, and they’re hoping to start in 2027.”
