Cooler, rainy beginning to month to give way to milder, drier ending

After a very wet start to September, it looks like producers here in the South will be getting a bit of a break with harvest time coming up fast. 

The Weather Network’s senior meteorologist Doug Gillham is predicting a warmer than normal and drier forecast, starting late this week. 

“Of course, normal is rapidly falling this time of year. So, we’re not talking mid-Summer heat but a warmer, drier pattern will be good news as the Harvest in many areas is running behind schedule. The positive is that we do not have our backs up against the wall with Winter looming. In fact, Winter looks like it’ll be rather late in getting started this year.”

Gillham is crediting models that show a strong El Nino influence across much of Western Canada in late Fall.
