KEN “KENNER” ROGALSKY, of Coaldale, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the age of 76 years, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Dorit; children, Trina (Darcy) Welsch, Kevin Rogalsky, and Julie (Colin) Gnyp; grandchildren, Gavin, Lukas, Morgan, Alexa and Logan; siblings Linda (Darryll) Graber, Warren (Louise Eamon) Rogalsky, Vic (Doreen) Rogalsky, Elsie (Grant) Rombough; siblings in law Pete Loewen, Dave Overn, Harald (Linda) Schmiegelt, Werner (Janet Welsh) Schmiegelt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Helen Rogalsky; sisters, Molly and Lenora; brother, Ed Rogalsky; and sisters in law Margaret Rogalsky and Marion Perkins; mother-in-law Anneliese Schmiegelt.
Kenner became a Journeyman Electrician in the 1970s and went on to earn his Master Electrician designation. In 1981, he established Kenner Electric, building a career and business that reflected his strong work ethic, skill and dedication to his trade.
Throughout his life, Kenner was also an active supporter of his community. He coached his childrens sports teams, raised funds and volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society, and supported local hockey teams. He served as President of the local Curling Club and as a member of the Board of Directors for the local golf club.
Kenner enjoyed being active and rarely passed up an opportunity for a little friendly competition. Golf, pickleball, volleyball and curling were among his favourite pastimes, and he was a loyal Lethbridge Hurricanes season ticket holder.
Those who knew Kenner will remember a man who loved to laugh, joke around and enjoy the people around him. Above all else, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, and he especially treasured every moment shared with his grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Unit 4C at Chinook Regional Hospital, the staff of the Jack Ady Cancer Centre in Lethbridge, and the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary for the care and compassion shown to Kenner throughout his illness. They are also deeply grateful to the many family members and friends who visited, supported and encouraged him during his treatments and extended hospital stays. Your kindness meant more than words can express.
A Celebration of Kenner’s Life will be held at COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316 – 17 Street, Coaldale, AB, on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 2:00 P.M.
