BONITA “BONNIE” MARGUERITE LAURIEN, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at Legacy Lodge on Friday, August 28, 2026 at the age of 85 years.

Bonnie will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children: Steve & Leslie of Lethbridge, Jackie of Sparwood, BC, and Tammy & Jack of Sparwood, as well as five grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Colleen Miller.

She was predeceased by her son David Peterson, and sister Carol Wright.

Bonnie was born April 24, 1941 in Eston, SK. She was raised on a farm near Whtie Bear, SK, with her younger twin sisters and brother.

At 17, Bonnie moved to Calgary, AB with her husband, to raise their family. She had four children, three girls and one boy.

In the early 70’s, Bonnie and her children moved to BC, spending time in both the Southern and Northern parts of the province. In the early 90’s, Bonnie settled in Lethbridge, where she led a meaningful life with the support of her family, friends and faith.

Bonnie’s achievements included her completion of Grade 8 Royal Conservatory Music in Piano. She played with sprit and passion at her church. She also played at the Prince of Wales in Waterton for High Tea, where she was employed. Bonnie also obtained her certified Swimming Instructor Certificate & Lifeguard Certificate in her late 40s.

Bonnie attended Lethbridge Community College in her 50s, and graduated from their Tourism & Hospitality program. Her easy and outgoing personality added to several successful experiences and employment in this field.

As time passed, Bonnie focused her energy on her church and helping others.
Throughout her life, Bonnie always sought to live life to the fullest and experience all that life had to offer. Always taking the opportunity to take on any adventure that presented itself.

Bonnie always knew how to make an entrance, which is one of the many reasons she will be missed by her family and friends.

A Celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at PARK MEADOWS BAPTIST CHURCH, 2011 – 15 Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 1:00 P.M.
