Three Lethbridge-based groups part of large bequest from longtime animal lover
Six non-profit groups, including three from the Lethbridge region, will receive much-appreciated funding through a $14.2 million endowment.
Marguerite Dixson, who grew up near Okotoks in Foothills County, was well known for her love of animals.
Bob Boudreau is the president of the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association and says his group is very thankful for Marguerite’s generosity.
“We’ve already purchased horses and, in fact, one of the horses is named Dixson. We’ve also provided a subsidy for individuals who can’t afford some of our programming to make sure they can use our programs. And, in terms of the adaptive cart program, that Kale ( talked about in the video, a form subsidy of that.”
