Lethbridge West MLA calls full-time medical program ‘exciting’

The MLA for Lethbridge West is elated with the creation of a full-time medical program at the University of Lethbridge.

Like many in the community, Rob Miyashiro hopes that a large part of those being trained at the facility will stay and become rural doctors.

“(It’s exciting) for the University of Lethbridge, for the University of Calgary. I think for for the academic and medical communities in southern Alberta and something that everyone will hope will grow into keeping medical professionals in southern Alberta.” 

Up ’til now, full-time training was divided between the U of L and the University of Calgary over the course of a year.
