Integrated EMS to remain untouched as City awaits independent benchmark review
Although a contract between the City of Lethbridge and Emergency Health Services Alberta ended yesterday, the City says not to expect any changes when it comes to paramedic callouts.
Hospital & Surgical Services minister Adriana LaGrange confirmed Tuesday that the findings of an independent third-party review on benchmark pricing have yet to be released.
“I want to make sure that everyone, particularly those with integrated paramedics that they have an accurate picture of what that benchmark is, so we’re waiting for the benchmark finalization and then we’ll have more conversations with Lethbridge and they can continue on with their decision-making.”
In a statement Monday, the City said residents can be reassured that emergency services will continue to be available, when needed, as they work with the Province to find the best long-term solution.
