New regulations on recycling items being accepted beginning Thursday

Starting today, there are more household items you can recycle thanks to an expansion of the Extended Producer Responsibility program.

Lethbridge County Director of Operations Ryan Thomson outlines some of the additions.

“Cardboard, boxed cardboard paper, newspaper, paper laminate packaging, containers, cartons, plastic containers and packaging, home packaging, metal and aluminum, aerosol containers and glass containers. They don’t need to be sorted and will be accepted at recycling centres, not just in Lethbridge County, but province-wide.”

By now, everyone who was added to the expanded curbside recycling program should have received their new blue carts.
