Coaldale’s Haunted School returns Oct. 20-29

Oct 3, 2026 | 6:00 AM

The Town of Coaldale is bringing the Haunted School back for another Halloween season.

The former John Davidson School will be open for five nights in 2026, offering Halloween fun at two levels, one for families with young children and the other with live actors and jump scares.

Paid admission is being introduced this year, with kids aged 5-11 costing $5 to enter and anyone 12 and older costing $10.

Parents accompanying young children on the family-friendly side can enter for free, while parents accompanying children through the scarier side will need to pay admission.

“Halloween is a great opportunity to bring people together for some fun, and we’re excited to welcome everyone back to the Town’s Haunted School,” said Town of Coaldale Mayor Jack Van Rijn. “Whether you’re bringing little ones for a gentler experience or looking for a few good scares yourself, there’s something for everyone. Thank you to the volunteers and community partners helping bring the school to life again this October.”

Any community groups, organizations, and individuals interested in helping create the attractions can contact Brooke Tonin at brooke.tonin@coaldale.ca.

The Haunted School will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on:

  • Tuesday, October 20
  • Wednesday, October 21
  • Tuesday, October 27
