University of BC wins both Canada West University golf championships

The UBC Thunderbirds from Vancouver took both the men’s and ladies events at this year’s Canada West University Golf Championship held at Paradise Canyon in Lethbridge.

While the rain stayed away, strong winds over both days, likely, played a factor in the scores with the T-Bird men finishing with a combined score of plus-2 and UBC’s womens team ending with a 9-over.

U of L golfer Brennan Tailfeathers had a personal two-round total of nine-over.

The Pronghorn men tied for 8th with the University of Regina, while the women took 7th, finishing ahead of the U of the Fraser Valley.
