Hours being changed at four Alberta border crossings to align with U.S. points of entry

Oct 9, 2026 | 10:58 AM

Originally, CBSA sent out release with identical opening hours for commercial traffic and regular vehicle traffic. This story now includes the correct hours, as provided by CBSA.

Beginning on the first of next month (Nov.1) the Canada Border Services Agency will be seasonally adjusting its hours to four points of entry into Alberta.

The move is to keep in line with the same hours that US agents are working, due to Alberta’s decision to stay on Mountain time year round.

That will mean that operating hours will need to be changed twice-a-year with Americans, for now, still changing their clocks in the Fall and Spring.

Hours for the four crossings, which includes commercial traffic, are:

Aden

Travellers: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week

Commercial: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday (except Holidays)

Carway

Travellers and commercial: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., 7 days a week

Del Bonita

Travellers: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week

Commercial: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday (except Holidays)

Wild Horse

Travellers: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., 7 days a week

Commercial: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday (except Holidays)

Crossings, like Coutts, aren’t affected since it’s open 24 hours and Chief Mountain, near Waterton Lakes, closed for the season at the end of September, with a scheduled mid-May re-opening.
