Alberta’s Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors is in Washington, D.C. this week.

Devin Dreeshen, who is MLA for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake, is there until Saturday with the goal of strengthening cross-border infrastructure priorities, according to a release.

Discussions will focus on improving commercial vehicle safety standards, maintaining U.S. customs and immigration pre-clearance services at Alberta airports, and advancing investments in transportation infrastructure.

“Alberta’s transportation network plays a critical role in connecting businesses to markets across North America,” says Dreeshen.

“Our government will continue working to improve safety, strengthen economic corridors and support the reliable movement of people and goods.”

During the visit, Minister Dreeshen is expected to meet with representatives of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, as well as U.S. transportation officials.

Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
