Lethbridge Food Bank’s Wednesday ‘cereal’ drive brings in 200 pounds of boxes
The Lethbridge Food Bank’s 3rd annual Cereal Killer food drive held Wednesday proved to be a very successful event.
Executive director Tim Rempel says both the community and the company behind the drive, Sponsor Energy, stepped up in a big way, including through an optional $50 donation program for new customers of the energy provider.
“That accumulates all through the year and that gives us our cheque. They gave us $7,450, so that’s awesome,” said Rempel.
“In addition to that, they do the event where they actually collect cereal boxes from people. They can stop by and drop them off and we collected 200 pounds of cereal.”
