Football Alberta Weekly Top-10 Rankings

Oct 26, 2026 | 9:30 AM

Here are the Weekly Top-10 Rankings for all five levels of high school football in Alberta for the 2026 season.

These rankings will come out every Sunday (except for Labour Day kickoff) from now up until November 9.

At that time, those will be the last rankings, and teams will take this rank into provincials.

The 12-a-side teams are slotted into their levels based on their estimated school size by School Sport Alberta, while the 9- and 6-a-side teams are one level only. Some re-sorting of 12-a-side levels will take place after the final official population numbers are recorded at the end of September.

Note: games vs. US opponents, scrimmages, or tournaments are not taken into consideration for ranking or listed in the overall record of the schools.

UPCOMING GAME(S) OF THE WEEK:

5A St. Francis Browns vs. #8 Lord Beaverbrook Lords 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, Hellard Field at Shouldice Park (Calgary)

The chaos that has been high school football in Calgary this season is best represented this week, where, based on the Bizzaro World final regular games of the traditional powers, this Division I quarterfinal game will feature a ranked Lord Beaverbrook team (which hasn’t happened this late in the season since 2006) and an unranked St. Francis team (which has happened rarely in the 36 years of Football Alberta rankings). Last Wednesday’s final regular season games saw both Notre Dame and St. Francis fall to teams in Centennial and Bowness respectively that haven’t pulled that off in decades. The result finds the Browns, one of Alberta’s most decorated and tradition-laden teams, with a 3-5 record and out of the rankings. Still, they get a chance at redemption this Wednesday. Or will the surging Lords think it’s time for a changing of the guard? Either way, I wouldn’t miss this one.
