Unofficial Question 10 ballot results posted on Elections Alberta website

Ahead of Thursday’s unveiling of official referendum results, Elections Alberta says it’s now completed 100 percent of its ballot counts.

On Question 10, which asked whether to stay as a province of Canada or hold a binding vote on separation – 1,552,251 or 74.9 percent of Albertans agreed to remain in confederation.

In three of the five electoral districts in our listening area, the margins, however, were considerably closer, with just 53.6 percent of ballots cast in Taber-Warner in favour of Option 1, to remain.

That figure was only sligthly higher in Cardston-Siksika at 56.7 and a little more in Livingstone-Macleod at 62.9 percent.
