Lethbridge Police Service suspend Crime Stoppers involvement amid reported data breach

It appears the Crime Stoppers program has been targetted by cyber criminals through its online P3 Tips platform resulting in an apparent data breach.

With that in mind, the Lethbridge Police Service has decided to suspend its participation in the program, pending the outcome of an investigation.

In a statement Friday, LPS said the service, which is provided by Navigate 360, was reportedly compromised earlier this year.

There’s no indication right now, though, that the southern Alberta chapter of Crime Stoppers was part of the breach.
