Bail denied for accused facing firearm, drug, stolen property charges
LETHBRIDGE – A Lethbridge man who had already been out on bail when he was arrested on weapons, drug, and possession of stolen property charges will remain in custody, after his most recent bid for release was denied Tuesday, Mar. 27.
After hearing from the Crown prosecutor and defence counsel – details of which are covered by a publication ban – the judge decided to keep 35-year-old Clement Nolan Black Rabbit in remand at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre.
Black Rabbit was most recently arrested on Jan. 12, following the execution of a search warrant at a home along the 1200 block of 6 Avenue South by the Downtown Policing and Priority Crimes units.
According to Lethbridge Police, they seized a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, knives, swords, throwing knives, a baton, two airsoft handguns, a small quantity of fentanyl, ID cards, credit cards, a debit terminal, and a variety of stolen property worth an estimated $7,600.
