Accused Bank Robber to Have Charges Waived to B.C.
LETHBRIDGE – A multiple bank robbery case that’s been handled in Lethbridge since early 2015, will likely come to a conclusion in a B.C. courtroom.
Greg White, who has been representing Shaun Christopher Cornish in Lethbridge, explained Friday morning (Sept. 16) that his client’s other lawyer in British Columbia has worked out a resolution there that will cover all of his charges.
Cornish was arrested and charged after nine banks – including one in Lethbridge – were robbed in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan between December of 2014 and January of 2015.
In the Lethbridge incident on January 13, 2015, a male walked into the TD Bank along the 2000 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South, approached the tellers, produced a firearm and demanded cash. He then fled after an undisclosed amount of money was handed over.
