City of Lethbridge conducting survey to research how to make Lethbridge an Age Friendly Community
LETHBRIDGE – A local initiative is launching research aimed at helping Lethbridge be designated by the World Health Organization as an Age Friendly Community.
Residents aged 45 and older in Lethbridge are encouraged to participate in a telephone survey being conducted by Hargroup Management Consultants from now until the end of June to identify needs and priorities to be addressed in order to secure the designation.
“By identifying needs and priorities for this segment of our community, the results of this survey will aid Lethbridge’s pursuit of an Age Friendly Community designation from the World Health Organization,” Councillor Rob Miyashiro and chairperson of the Age Friendly Lethbridge committee said. “We encourage residents to take a few minutes and participate in the survey, if they receive a call.”
A release from the city states an Age Friendly designation indicates a community aids the ability of older adults to complete daily living tasks and plans social and physical structures to support their ability to live independently with a high quality of life.
