Hurricanes drop 6-2 decision to Victoria at the Enmax
LETHBRIDGE — The Hurricanes began the second half of their WHL season Friday (Dec 28) night, after the Christmas break, with a home-ice 6-2 loss to the Victoria Royals. It put a halt to the Canes three-game winning streak and puts the home team and 18-10-4-2 on the season.
The Royals’ Dante Hannoun opened the scoring just three minutes into the first period. It was the first goal on the way to a hat-trick trick for Hannoun.
Six minutes later, the Royals took advantage of a power play, building a 2-0 lead and appearing to take control of the game.
Just after the mid point of the period, Jordy Bellerive shot the puck through the pipes, off an assist from Nick Henry and Jake Leschyshyn. The first period came to an end with the 2-1 score in favour of the Royals.
