Sep 6, 2016 | 5:34 PM

LETHBRIDGE –   The Lethbridge Police Service held a ceremony at the Courthouse to swear-in three new members on Tuesday afternoon.

The Honourable Judge Derek Redman conducted the ceremony, in which Drew Kanyo, Teran Smith and Steven Stewart took the oath.

While all three have previous policing experience, the new constables will undergo four weeks of experienced officer recruit training and then six weeks with a Field Training Officer on the street.

The trio of new officers is the first group of recruits to be sworn in by LPS since 2014 and they bring the Service’s officer numbers to 172.
