LETHBRIDGE – There has been a very prompt resolution for one of the two accused in a robbery last week in Lethbridge.

Dennis Noskey pleaded guilty to one count of robbery on Thursday, July 19, just two days after the incident outside of London Road Market.

Noskey received an 18-month jail sentence after offering the guilty plea and noted that he wanted to resolve the matter as quickly as possible. Additional charges of possession of a weapon and assault with a weapon were then withdrawn by the Crown.

Meanwhile, co-accused Constance Red Crow remains in custody as she works to retain a lawyer. She is due back in court later this week. Red Crow faces charges of robbery, possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon, and breaching court conditions.

According to the Lethbridge Police Service, a woman entered the south side grocery store around 11:15 a.m. on July 17, took several items – including a glass bottle of pop – and left without paying.

A store employee confronted the woman and a man she met with outside, asking that the items be returned. Instead, the male punched the employee and the two engaged in a physical altercation – which was recorded and posted to social media.

While they struggled, the woman then allegedly smashed the glass bottle and used the broken end as a weapon. As the employee and a citizen who stopped to help then backed off, the two suspects fled the scene, before being arrested a short time later by LPS.
