Lethbridge senior celebrates 110th birthday
LETHBRIDGE – While tapping her foot to birthday music, Lethbridge’s oldest resident, Irene (Reenee) Easton, celebrated her 110th birthday Oct. 15 at the Edith Cavell Center surrounded by family, friends, and care workers.
Her daughter Lynne Davis, grandchildren Terri and Mark were all there, along with Davis’ cousin John Easton who made a brief speech.
“She had a beautiful cake, they had the music play,” said Davis. “They served cranberry juice and ginger ale in tall wine glasses. Very elegant. It was beautiful. She received a nice tribute from the Mayor of Lethbridge, one from The Queen, one from the Governor General and one from Prime Minister Trudeau.”
The recreation department at Edith Cavell organized the party, something which Davis is grateful for.
