It is with sadness and gentle relief, that we announce the passing of BRYAN NICHOLAS BOLOKOSKI, beloved husband of Elaine, on Thursday, July 28, 2016, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Lethbridge on November 2, 1948 and lived on the family farm, east of Warner until completion of high school. Bryan attended LCC for two years in Business Education and spent his life in retail; with Woolco, Eldorado RV, Allied Moving, Glidden Paints and Field of RV Dreams.
Besides his loving wife, Elaine, Bryan leaves to cherish his memory, his son Drew (Kelsi) of Osoyoos, BC, his daughter Dee (Ed de Bruin), his precious grandson Grayson Nicholas and his much anticipated second grandchild due in October, his sister, Beverley (Richard) Dunn, sister-in-law, Truus Bolokoski, his aunt Elsie Nygaard, all the special in-laws from Elaine’s family- Margaret (Don) Swedish of Edmonton, Linda (Jerry) Scott of Cardston, Jean (Allan) Doig of Perth, West Australia, Diane (Cliff) Middleton of Lethbridge, David of Bow Island, Ken of Bow Island, Kathy (John) Scavarda of Victoria, BC and many nieces, nephews, extended family and great friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Anne, and his dear brother Marvin, as well as grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. Family was a priority with Bryan and we often hosted family gatherings. Memories of these will be cherished by all.
Bryan loved sports. He participated in school and community sports through school. He was an avid golf enthusiast. As a family, we camped, fished, jeeped, skied and golfed. He was active in Drew’s sports-as coach, team rep, whatever was needed. He was a die-hard Hurricanes and Calgary Flames fan. He looked forward to his yearly fall trip to Osoyoos to play in the ProAm with Drew.
Bryan was hardworking and would do anything for anybody. He was talented and his handiwork can be seen in the homes of many family members. He was happiest when he had a project underway. He kept the family home and yard well-maintained. Bryan had a passion for roses which were enjoyed by so many and a stunning sight to see-he definitely had a green thumb!
Besides all the work on our home, one of his greatest projects was developing the basement at Dee and Ed’s home, an amazing job.
A Memorial Service to honor, celebrate and remember Bryan will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 1:00 P.M.
