Liese Betty Geddert Boschman
Liese Geddert was born on March 16, 1930 and passed away on April 2, 2024 in Lethbridge Alberta. Her German speaking parents attempted to register her name as Liese after her mother but it was recorded as Lisa. Liese became referred to as Betty in her elementary school years and that became her commonly used name. Betty married Peter Boschman, her high school sweetheart in August 1951. Betty was predeceased by Peter in May 2013 after 61 years of marriage.
Betty was the loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother of Ken and Sharon Boschman of Leduc, AB [Michelle Clark (Abigail, Sophie, Grace, Jillian, Susannah), Robert and Kerri Boschman (Jenna Liese), Jeremy Boschman (Mason and Nolan)]; Marlene Boschman of Coaldale, AB; Harv and Linda Boschman of Spruce Grove, AB [Nicholas and Erica Boschman (Samuel), and Jacqueline Boschman]; Norm and Janyce Boschman of Winnipeg, MB [Luke Boschman and Melissa Sheane (Lukas), Bethany Boschman, Claire Boschman]; Carole and Marvin Reimer of Lethbridge, AB [Lauren Reimer]; Gord and Therese Boschman of Loveland, Colorado [Tyler Boschman, Paige Boschman, Jared Boschman].
Betty Boschman was born in Namaka, AB to David and Liese (Quiring) Geddert. She is remembered by her surviving sibling and families, brother Jake and Mary Geddert, and sisters in law Hilda Geddert and Annie Geddert. She was predeceased by her parents, and siblings/inlaws George Geddert, Mary and Jake Thiessen, Agnes and Abe Wittenberg, Harry Nordby, Dave Geddert as well as several siblings in childhood David, Henry, Martha and Annie. Betty is also remembered by the surviving Boschman family Cornie Pauls, Mary and Allan Megli, Barney and Jocelyn Barnaby, Frieda and John Dueck, John and Freida Boschman, Henry Boschman and their respective families. She was predeceased by Peter’s parents, as well as siblings/inlaws David and Lena Boschman, Anne Pauls, Jake Woelk, Helen Barnaby and Grace Boschman.
Betty was a woman of faith, serving in the church along with Peter for 40 years. She loved music and was happy to frequently serve in song with her family or others as Peter had need. She was gifted with creativity, and there are many paintings, quilts, ceramics, and crocheted items displayed in her children’s homes. She was a loving mother and grandmother and time playing games with her children and grandchildren was always a highlight.
