ROBERT “BOB” BOULTON known by many of his friends as Buddy, passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s at the age of 89 years.
He is survived by his children Larry (Adella), Nancy, Annamarie (Chris) and Scott (Monica); his grandson Matthew and his brother Dr. James Boulton. He was predeceased by his lovely and loving wife Dorothy, his parents and many wonderful pets that were a part of his life.
Bob worked his entire career as an accountant in partnership with his father. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed bird, game and big game hunting and was an expert fly fisherman using his own creations. Along with his German shorthaired pointer bird dogs, the family also enjoyed a long sequence of dachshunds imaginatively named either Sammy or Baron and cats named Casey. He was known to walk the neighbourhood giving out milk bones to the dogs along the route. He knew most of the animal’s names but not so much the owners.
Too young to serve in the war, Bob supported our country’s military efforts by being an accountant in eastern Canada with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Bob was well read on the Second World War and an expert on the campaigns of the Eastern Fronts. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion as well as the IOOF (International Order of Odd Fellows).
The family would like to thank Dr. Colin Walsh for his support as well as the staff at St. Michael’s who cared for Bob for so many years. A special thank you also goes to his Quality Care companion Ashley who provided Bob with many hours of friendship and love.
Bob requested that there be no funeral. In lieu of flowers we ask that you remember Bob’s love of animals through a donation to any local cat or dog rescue organization.
