We are heartbroken to share that James “Jim” Alexander Oliver Bremner, 60, passed away surrounded by his loving family after a brief, but courageous battle with illness, on Saturday, April 18, 2026 in Lethbridge, Alberta.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Leigh Bremner; son Theran Bremner (Melissa); his father Leo Bremner; his siblings: Leo Jr. (Shauna) Bremner, Jeanne (Kevin) Pickering, and Margeret Byette; his grandchildren, Declan and Isla Bremner; brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Kelli) Siska, and Darcy (Lisa) Siska, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by his mother Jerrine Bremner, brother Robert “Bob” Byette, and mother and father-in-law Eileen and George Siska.
Jim was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Jerrine and Leo Bremner on May 9, 1965. He married Leigh Anne Siska on May 18, 1985 in Coleman, Alberta and had a son, Theran. He graduated from Lethbridge Community College in 1991. Over the course of 35+ years, Jim worked for Canbra Foods/Richardson International in a variety of roles, most recently as an RBD Operator. When not working, Jim loved spending time with his family, being in the outdoors, camping and playing the guitar. Whatever he was doing, he was always listening to and surrounded by music.
The family of Jim Bremner wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the medical staff, especially the nurses at the Chinook Regional Hospital, mainly unit 4B, for their tireless efforts, compassion and support through this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. with Pat Siedlecki officiating. Following the Celebration, Jim will be laid to rest in Archmount Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, plant a tree, adopt a rescue dog or just crack an ice-cold beer in Jim’s memory. Any donations can be made specifically to the Canadian Cancer Society (cancer.ca)
