It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, MAXINE VIVIAN COMAI (née Dodd) at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the age of 99 years.

Maxine was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert, brothers Gordon and Leonard, and sister Lorna. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Jerry (Annie) Comai of Lethbridge, Keith Comai of Calgary, and her daughter Sandra Comai-Demmers of Calgary, her grandchildren Chris & Kyle, Tamara & Brandon, and her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Payton, and Layla.

Maxine touched the hearts of many through her 99 years, with her generosity, kind spirit, optimism, and lovely smile. She enjoyed dancing with Robert, golfing with friends, and family gatherings.

Maxine had wished to share this poem:

Do not stand by my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the soft falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.

I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there. I did not die.
