It is with heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of BONNIE NELL-MARIE COTE, of Diamond City, beloved wife of the late Richard Cote, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the age of 68 years.
Bonnie is survived by her four sons: Christopher (Charity) and their children: Laura, Riley, Hope, Bowen, Mytchel and Gage; Daniel (Shannon) and their children: Jayme, Trinda, Keeton and Kalis; Jonathan (Marla) and their children: Paisley, Keira and Hayden; and Andrew (Jilana) and their children: Kohen and Emmett; brother Warren (Susan); and sisters: Jeannie (Harold) and Linda (Dennis); along with 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her loving husband Richard of 40 years, she was predeceased by her parents June and Daniel McEwen; father and mother in-law Leo and Velma Cote; and son Jeffery.
Bonnie was born and raised in Lethbridge. She spent her childhood growing up in the community of Hardieville. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1972. After high school, she graduated in 1979 with a Medical Radiation Technologist certificate. She spent the early years of her career at Campbell Clinic. She then transitioned her career over to the Chinook Regional Hospital, where she became the lead tech for the Mammography department and retired from there many years later.
Richard and Bonnie purchased land in Diamond City, where they raised their boys. Bonnie enjoyed every minute spent on her farm. In her early years on the farm, she enjoyed having school groups come and visit her “funny farm”. She had a true love for horses; barrel racing was one of her favourite activities to take part in. She adored every minute spent with her grandchildren. Her favourite pastime was spent drinking coffee and enjoying her coulee view off the deck.
Bonnie touched many lives and will be missed greatly by all. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of the emergency department at Chinook Regional Hospital.
A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life will be held at the SANDMAN SIGNATURE HOTEL, 320 Scenic Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Pat Siedlecki officiating. The Celebration of Life will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Bonnie’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
Bonnie will be laid to rest in a private Family Graveside Service at Royal View Cemetery.
