MILES DAYTON, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 77.
Miles was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. He spent much of his life doing what he loved — working in trucking, both long haul and local. He was an exceptional truck driver, known by many as one of the best, and took great pride in his work.
He had a natural talent for fixing and creating, and enjoyed restoring old vehicles and building things with his hands. He also loved riding motorcycles, kayaking with his wife, and spending time with his pets, who brought him great joy. More than anything in this world, he loved his wife, Dawn. Miles loved Dawn so purely and immensely, and you couldn’t help but notice it.
Miles was the epitome of cool, calm, and collected. He will be remembered as a genuine, kind man, a true gentleman with a quiet wisdom and heart of gold. While he was a man of few words, when he spoke, his words carried meaning. He always had a joke to share and a way of making people smile.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Dawn; his children, Carissa (Grant), Trilleen (Rick), and Chad; as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Laurel, Merle, and Melody (Alan), his brother Wayne (Mary), and many nieces and nephews.
Miles was predeceased by parents Charlie and Laura, daughter Kim (Steve), his great-granddaughter Serenity, his son Nathan, and his son-in-law Dustin.
His gentle presence will be painfully missed in our family, but we feel incredible peace knowing his loved ones were waiting for him in heaven.
In keeping with Miles’ wishes, no formal service will be held.
