1943-2026
MARGARET “JEAN” ELLIOTT, of Fort Macleod, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the age of 82 years.
Jean was born to John “Wilson” and Margaret Parker in Fort Macleod, Alberta on April 24, 1943. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Blair Elliott, former spouse John Pansky and two dear children, Kelly Pansky and Connie Hiraga. Jean will be deeply cherished by her children: Shelley (Steve) Ferguson, Darcy (Tara) Pansky and Darren Pansky; son-in-law Kevin Hiraga, husband of her late daughter Connie. She will be sorely missed by grandchildren: Ashley, Kyle, Cody (Shelby), Taylor (Nathan), Alyssa, Karli (Nick) and Emma; and great-grandchild Oakley. Jean is also survived by her brother Dave (Fran) Parker, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family; and lovingly remembered by close friend Reva.
Jean grew up and graduated from FP Walshe in Fort Macleod; some of her early activities were playing volleyball, curling and bowling. She married her first husband John Pansky in 1964, and they started their family shortly thereafter. Jean worked in various roles at AGT, UofL Bookstore, the Sandman Hotel; and Taco Time, where she was awarded a trip of choice for her dedication to leadership and management. Jean eventually went on to own and operate the Igloo Drive-in with second husband Blair Elliott, until their retirement. Jean was defined by her devotion and tireless dedication to her work, always ensuring that laughter was a part of the day. After retirement, they moved to an acreage in Orton, AB while enjoying their winters away in Yuma, AZ. Mom was a passionate cat lover who always had a feline friend by her side. Her hobbies included dancing, puzzling, playing the piano/organ, going to bingo, playing in crib tournaments, spending time with family or friends and searching for the next best deal.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Kevin, Ashley and Kyle for the exceptional care and support for Jean, which brought great comfort to the Pansky family.
Jean will be laid to rest in MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, 1210 Scenic Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 11:00 A.M.
