IN LOVING MEMORY OF JOHN FRIESEN

May 20, 1954 — June 27, 2026

 

JOHN FRIESEN, passed away at the Coaldale Health Centre on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the age of 72 years.

John Friesen was born on May 20, 1954, in Quectomoc, Mexico, to Peter and Anna Friesen. He grew up with 12 siblings and later married Anna Thiessen in 1977 in Manitoba. They settled in Alberta, where they raised their three children: Melissa, Amanda, and Victor.

John was predeceased by his parents Peter & Anna, his wife Anna, brothers Peter (“Mocho”) and Nick, and his sister Anna. He is survived by his brothers Abe, Aaron, Cornie, Jake, Henry, and Dave, and his sisters Helen, Tina, and Sara.

John will be remembered for his love of laughter, fishing, playful pranks, and the cherished memories he shared, as well as his deep devotion to his family and grandchildren Mackenna, Gracie, Hope, Ava, and Skye.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME – 2825 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Pieter Van Ewijk officiating. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed and may be viewed through John’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
