BLAIR ALLAN GRIER, passed away at his home in Lethbridge, Alberta on August 28, 2026, at the age of 60.

Blair was predeceased by his mother Marian, who passed earlier in 2026. He is survived by his partner Richelle Marynowski (née Casson), his children Cooper and Hetti Coe, his father Allan, and his brothers Colin (Kelly) and Keith (Joan).

Blair was born in 1965 in Ontario and was the first of three wonderful children raised by Al and Marian in Saskatchewan and in Alberta. Blair excelled in school academically, though his nemesis during his Engineering program was partial differential calculus. He was an avid musician from early on, playing several instruments in school bands and to entertain his friends and family. He was a skilled athlete, playing hockey at various levels and excelling as a skip in competitive Junior curling. He continued to enjoy both sports through his adult life. Blair developed an avid passion for cars early on, and was always pursuing and enjoying his next new auto toy.

Blair attended the Civil Engineering Co-operative program at the University of Alberta, gaining an engineering degree and Professional Engineer accreditation in the 1980s. His early career took him westward to Vancouver, down to New Zealand, and ultimately to Lethbridge, where he pursued a long and successful career in construction management.

Blair raised his two children, Cooper and Hetti Coe, in Lethbridge, and spent his final years enjoying life, travelling the globe, and pursuing an array of recreational sports with his children and partner Richelle.

Blair was universally known for his enthusiastic love of life, his great sense of humour, and his incredible building skills. He was the rock and foundation of the Grier family, and his loss, especially so early and unexpectedly, leaves a void in our lives and in the world that will be impossible to fill.

A private service will be held at Cornerstone Funeral home on September 9. A Celebration of Blair’s Life will be held at EXCITE LETHBRIDGE – 101 Exhibition Way S., Lethbridge, AB in the Lakeview Salon, on Wednesday, September 9 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a short service starting at 6:30 pm.
