DOREEN JANE GRYCHOWSKI, passed away at the St. Therese Villa, on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the age of 81 years.

Doreen was a sister to Hazel and Darlene. She was a mother to Bruce, Judith, Donna and Karen, grandma to Nicholas, Janis, Stewart, Andrew, Kari, Cole, Dori, Katie, Tim and Corinne and a great-grandma.

Doreen was predeceased by her husband Nick, of 45 years, in 2000, as well as her son Gerald and sisters Marlene and Geraldine.

Doreen was born May 16, 1935 in Kelvington, Saskatchewan. Doreen lived a life of service. She was a very hard working and devoted grandmother, mother, sister and friend. She spent countless hours volunteering with the CWL and other community groups, making life a bit easier for others. She loved helping her children in whatever way she could. She doted on all of her grandchildren and would have loved being part of her great-grandchildren’s lives. It was unfortunate that Alzheimer’s disease took her ability to participate in the things she so enjoyed.

Doreen made friends in all the communities that she has lived in over the years. She loved having her hot water at Dairy Queen in High River. She will be very much missed.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with Father Lukas Drapal celebrating.
